We recommend matching this to a clutchmasters flywheel kit with a sprung hub this can alleviate most noise. While this is not usually a problem for the enthusiast, if you are sensitive to noise please be aware of this. This is not-a-defect, but is the nature of the way BMWs transmissions are designed. You will notice the improved performance immediately but a typical side effect is some light "chatter" noise at idle (when the clutch is not depressed). PLEASE NOTE: Lightweight flywheels do not have heavy damping like the OE flywheel. A "mid-weight" steel version of this flywheel is available below. It will actually fit M50 & M52 engines and the 325/328 transmission when used along with an E36 M3 clutch kit. This flywheel is larger than std M50 & M52.Allows more power to get to the ground: less rotational losses!.Accepts any stock or aftermarket clutch for the S50 / S52.Supplied ready to bolt in, with hardware, and accepts original clutch sets or upgraded clutch kits.

Made of solid CNC’d 7075-T6 aluminum alloy.

Parts list: Spherical bearing: FK bearing WSSX12T, x1. BMW Double Shear Selector Rod, DSSR E36 (94+ 325), E34 (M5) This BMW Double Shear Selector Rod (DSSR) will eliminate the free play in your selector rod mechanism leading to smoother, more precise shifts. It is similar to the Bimmerworld race shifter or the AKG stage 2 shifter (not as pretty, but also not nearly as expensive).

The US spec E36 M3 engine is really a GREAT motor, but can feel sluggish with the heavy OE flywheel. Ouch, HEAVY! This has a huge impact on the S50/S52 US engines as they are typically characterized as not having true "M Car" throttle response. Your stock flywheel weights range from approximately 24-29lbs on the E36.
